Well guys, my start consisted of getting out the box. I removed a few parts and started dry fitting.
I remember many comments about the Hasegawa 1/48 F14. Whoever is building one of these I suggest you
take heed of the various reviews. There are many tricks to make assembly easier on this kit.
So my start was a little sluggish. As soon as I get glue to plastic I will submit some progress. :D :D :D
Cheers
Nigel

Well started on my F14-A. Going together well although the cockpit is a bit basic. Am happy with progress so far.

Have been perusing the sprues and some references. The Haegwawa kit looks to be an early model airframe and as such is missing a few lumps and bumps and has the early beaver tail without ecm bump. I also have an Academy f-14 kit and it seems to be the later model airframe. I assume the NASWC birds would be a late model type? The decal sheet when it arrives might provide an answer. Any suggestions?
The Academy kit has the VF-84 Jolly Rogers' markings for '1980'. Would this be an early airfame? You can see what I am thinking. Anyhows...will keep searching refernces.

Also, are we starting a new thread for our builds or just adding progress here?

Cheers,
David.
