Great shots, thanks for posting them up. I have been considering doing up an artwork this year for prints, and these images will be invaluable. Cheers.

Thanks Guys. Walking around the F-111 I realised how much I do miss seeing them tearing up the skies around here, and it was great having my Father with me giving me a guided tour and telling me some of his stories. If you do an F-111 Print Noel you can sign me up for one right now :D
Cheers,
Matt.

Definitely let you know. It will be a ways down the track, but hopefully a project for 2016.

Great pics Matt, I have some of 38 when I stopped out there a while ago but nowhere near as good as yours. I probably know your father, I spent around 30 yrs working on pigs starting in the late 70's. 113 has always been one of my pet aircraft (I was on the coldproof team that sent it back from the states when we got the A models plus worked on it heaps since) so I'm building a 1/48 model of how it sits in Darwin now. Used your pics to jog my memory with some decal placement so thanks for posting them.

Noticed something interesting, 38 has its squadron emblems on the opposite sides to the other preserved F111s that I've seen pictures of. Most seem to have 6 Sqn on the right side.

They all look terrific and the disposal team have done a brilliant job but I'm not convinced the blue of the roundels, fin flashes and Oz flags is correct. Note that the 6SQN tail markings were a unique blue shade and different to the national markings.
Cheers,
