Vengeance!

Postby Daniel Cox » Thu Dec 16, 2010 9:24 am

Hi All,

For those who don't visit Britmodeller, I have some pictures to share that I have scanned from the damaged negatives. They are of RAAF Vultee Vengeance Mk.II aircraft of 24 Squadron during 1943 whilst based at Bankstown, Australia These images were captured shortly before 24 Sqn. returned to the Territory of New Guinea for operations in the SWPA.

You can also download larger 1800 x 1200 pixel images of the same pics from one of my Picasa albums here;

All the Images are Copyright Expired and are now Public Domain, so enjoy!

Aircraft shown are:

A27-221 GR-N, 24 Squadron. Written off, 10 July 1944, Lockhart Mission, Territory of New Guinea.

A27-226 GR-D, Arrived 24 Squadron 4 June 1943. To 5 Aircraft Depot, 12 September 1944. Struck Off Charge off 16 May 1946.
