Aerobatic Team GB-1/48 Telstar Vampire-finished

Courtesy of Antoney Wilkinson I managed to get a 1/48 decal sheet for the Telstars Vampire which I will be using on my 1/48 Classic Airframes T.35 Vampire (OOB). Here's my progress so far;

Well after almost two weeks off modelling due to nightshift and family/work commitments, I decided to do a little work on the T.35 this morning. I had to shave back some of the resin interior wall to get the instrument panel to sit correctly but the fuselage is now together and requires some putty to fix some of the misshapen panel areas although its overall shape and fit is okay. I have also glued the two tail booms together however, one needs a little attention where the rudder is, as it protrudes a little to far and I have glued the resin wheel wells into posiition in the wings. I will need to use my Dremel to sand down the excess resin on the inside to get the wings to fit. I am also thinking whether to perhaps cut the air brake out and re-fit it in the open position like the one at PCK.

Here's some more...I had to cut about 2mm off each side of the horizontal tail insert to get the two booms to sit evenly. There's huge gaps on each side of the cockpit which you can see I filled as well as around the whole a/c.

You're not wrong Damian. And those god damn tails. Once hit by a basketball thrown by a kid's friend....could've killed him, then couldn't realign them properly before they just fell off again. Why do we love this model caper so much? Atleast it's not as bad as the Sword 1/48 Auster III I'm trying to finish. That was just horrible to build. Glad I only paid $10 for it

It was about 3 years ago..was peed off at the time but I repaired it ok,,, real tail sitter even having crammed the nose with lead, if I were build it again I'd leave out the resin nose gear bay just box it up for more leg-room er correction lead room

I vaguely remember this incident Wally from the old forum. I'm now thinking that if you filled your nose completely then I haven't done enough either with mine.
