Mirage IIIO(A) A3-72, 77 SQN Williamstown

Introduction

Serial : A3-72
Type : Mirage IIIO(A)
Squadron : 77 Squadron
Based: Williamtown, NSW (circa 1981-RAAF's Diamond Jubilee).  This was the first aircraft to be painted for the Diamond Jubilee in 1981.  It initially had a red, white and blue leadind edge on the tail witha southern cross on the fin and rudder but this was changed as it was mistaken for a 3 Squadron aircraft.  This aircraft is now on open display at Point Cook, Victoria in standard three tone camouflage and 77 squadron markings.
Scheme :  Jubilee-White, Red and French Blue
Kit : Italeri 1:48 with High Planes resin cockpit, U/C well and Mk 6 seat, re-scribed panel lines, re-designed main U/C well and nose cone.  Decals OOB, Microscale, Roo Decal.  Main scheme home stencilled.  Scratch built FOD pads and pitot covers, RBF tags by Verlinden
