1/48 ICM Mustang III, FB244 OK-F, Fano Italy

Introduction


Serial/Code FB244, OK-F
Squadron 450 Squadron RAAF, Fano, Italy (Circa June 1945)
Scheme Olive drab and Sea Gray top, Sky grey bottom with medium blue tail and Southern Cross.  This aircraft was originally taken on strength by 112 Sqn (RAF) until 5/4/45 when it was transferred to 3 Sqn (RAAF) and coded CV-F.  On 12/5/45 it was transferred to 450 Sqn (RAAF) who were in the process of converting from P-40s to the Mustang as the war in Europe ended.
Kit ICM 1/48 Mustang Mk. III (RAF Fighter) with Aussie Decals, kit decals and scrap box red meatballs for the upper wings.  Only addition was seat belts made from wine botttle foil.
